The quartet was formed initially to play with great singer Sheila Jordan on the occasion of her performances in Austria 2015/16. The group worked so well from the start that one decided to keep going also without vocalist.
Olaf Polziehn is a sought-after companion in a stylistic range from Take Six to Bob Mintzer, Morten Ramsbøl played among others with John Scofield or Kurt Elling, both are also bandleaders. Just like both are teaching at the jazz institute of the Graz University of Arts.
Karlheinz Miklin jr. has already been on the road in different groups of his father for more than a decade.
The saxophonist with this formation connects to his legendary quartet performances with Fritz Pauer, Ron McClure and drummers Billy Hart, Adam Nussbaum or Victor Lewis in the 90s.
